Zarif wondered how a ship that looked so large from the outside could be so clostaphobic inside. And you'd have to be a Tihna Meck to find your way through all the passageways. And still, there was no sign of an info-terminal.

The crew knew if they didn't make for the the station fast, their air would surely run out before Zarif landed. Two of the three roto-habits were still spinning, which meant the air regenerators on the station would still be functioning. The only hope for Deregenes was Zarif getting there and stopping any further political maneuvering by the Grand Congress to end all peace talks.

Delphines were well known for their sloppy appearance and archaic architecture. He knew it couldn't have been them. The design of the conference room looked more Deregenes, like in the Harvest Center tower.

FeClerk had to think fast. The police stinger had the range and speed, but the rescue pod was well stocked with food, water and modern communication equipment.

The weather vectoring generator was cold as space. If he didn't get the reactor cells back on line, the temperature outside the control center would rise enough to boil Ajaxian sea water.

Exhausted, bio-suit scorched, out of water, Zarick found his way back to the sub level, sighted the reactant valve and collapsed.

There were several different species of Arrosett in the Vastal Sea. This one was harmless, but they kept their senses tuned while in this alien world.

The portal initiator was apparently powered down. If Zarif could figure out the service codes, he might well reactivate the initiator and greatly shorten a long trip.

At the end of the corridor there was a large storage compartment filled with crates and drums. It was a shock, but these were the missing shipments.

Thinna spoke of the "seeing." She visualized a planetary telescope on the fifth planet, one of the most spectacular places in the Fourth Triad. She also saw a great darkness, a darkness created by great armies of Mechdors waiting to commit themselves to the task of destroying all organics.
